Comments: Hitman: Agent 47

I recently went to watch the reboot of the Hitman film franchise - Hitman: Agent 47 and was pleasantly surprised by it.

Comments: Kobé Steakhouse - Ms. Pac Man

And now for the final Kobé comment! And it's time for the man himself... 's wife (at least I think they're married - she is a Ms. after all). That's right! It's time to enter the maze once more, this time with Ms. Pac Man.

Comments: Men In Black: Alien Attack

When we went to Universal Studios we entered what appeared to be a pretty harmless tour through the Universe and You!

Comments: Completion of Contrast

Well, I got back from holiday yesterday and, due to jet lag, decided to take a day off. And, so, an afternoon of gaming commenced. And the game I chose to play was Contrast.

Comments: Kobé Steakhouse - Frogger

Back to the Kobé restaurant today and I had another (rather short go) at another classic. Frogger. The cross the road game that all other cross the road games aspire to be. However, my experience with it was short and bitter sweet.

Comments: Kobé Steakhouse - Donkey Kong

As Harry has already mentioned in a past post, we visited the Kobé restaurant in Orlando, Florida on holiday. There I got to play (an emulation of) Donkey Kong.

Comments: Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom

Explore the Magic Kingdom they said. It'll be safe they said. What they didn't mention was the fact that Hades has gathered all of Disney's darkest forces and decided to attack. And, of course, it was up to me, my family and a bunch of Disney heroes on cards (oh, and Merlin) to save the Crystals of the Magic Kingdom from Hades' fiery grasp.

PC Building: Week 11 - SATA Cables and IDE Converter

This week, I did some research, and came up with a solution about how to access my files off my old IDE hard drive from my 2005 Dell Dimension 3000, which I recently disassembled as I don't use it any more.

Comments: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

We're in Magic Kingdom now and, this time the toys had decided to take the fight to us. The Evil Emperor Zerg™ had created a secret weapon and it was up to us (as newly recruited Space Rangers - some of the only toys that didn't seem evil) to stop him.

Comments: Kobé Steakhouse - Galaga

When I went to the Kobé Steakhouse on holiday, there was an arcade machine (i.e. with the original joysticks etc. but on a flat screen rather than a cabinet) emulator containing Galaga and Donkey Kong, among other things. I selected Galaga and, while not doing as well as I hoped I would (I died at about 8500 points - oops), it was quite fun.

App Review No. 91 Crossy Road

Strong points:
Colourful vibrant graphics
Sound effects are nice
Addictive
Lots of characters
Characters change the game... Cosmetically at least
Prizes are a good way to get coins
Frequent themed updates
Challenges help to gain coins
Certain characters can be found in game by fulfilling certain objectives...

Weak Points:
Hard to get enough coins for characters outside of prizes
Prize times increase dramatically
Frustrating
Repetitive
...although no hints are given about how to unlock them

Rating: 75%

First Impressions: Brave

Well, I have to say that I was pleasently surprised by this one. Recently, I visited the Innoventions section of Epcot while on holiday with my family and, as some of you may know, there is a video game section at the end with some of Disney's choice tie-in games (so, Pixar basically). I didn't have much time and, so, only got to go on one game. While Satamer got stuck on an early level of Brave, I thought I'd be brave and jump right in with the final level.

Comments: Toy Story Midway Mania

When I visited Holywood Studios in Orlando, Florida with my family we entered a world inhabited by sentient toys. They're bigger than us. Stronger than us. Smarter than us. Better than us.

PC Building: Week 9 - Operating System Installation

This week, I decided to install my operating system onto my PC, which was a lot harder than it looks, due to my lack of a disc drive connected to my PC. First, I created an Ubuntu Live USB, so that I could at least use my computer to find a solution to my problem. Then I began to search for a solution, which I found in the form of a boot USB. At first I tried to do this straight from the Windows 8.1 iso that I had downloaded, but as this failed time, and time again, I decided to create one from the Windows 7 boot disc that I had from my old PC, but this, too failed. I had one final idea - to connect up my DVD drive in place of my main hard drive temporarily (since I only had 2 of the 3 SATA cables I needed) and install a temporary copy of Windows 7 onto the SSD. Once the Windows 7 installation was complete, I installed one program - Daemon Tools, a virtual disk drive application that I could then use to mount the Windows 8.1 iso. I then ran the installer on it, to install Windows 8.1 onto my PC. Quite a long winded approach, but the only way that I could think to do it without the SATA cable I needed for my disk drive.

Review No. 114 Pilotwings Resort - 3DS (3+)

Strong Points:
Graphics are quite good...
Music is good
Lots of missions
Lots of vehicles
The vehicles are quite varied and have different playstyles
Free Flight Mode is great
Exploring Wuhu Island is fun
The vehicles handle pretty well
The altitude and speedometer are a nice inclusion

Weak Points:
...although some points (such as the water) haven't aged brilliantly
The controls can be a bit fiddly
Landing can prove a problem and take away a few minutes of hard work
The scaling's a bit off - you are about the size of a building
The squirrel suit is only used once

PC Building: Week 8 - Troubleshooting

The majority of this week, I spent troubleshooting why my PC doesn't boot to BIOS, removing each component in turn and seeing if it would boot. Finally, I came across the source of my problems: last week, I plugged the fans into both the PSU and the motherboard, as there is a fan header on the motherboard, but this is apparently not the way you are meant to do things! Either you connect the fans to one, or the other, but not both! I decided to connect it to the PSU, as although I am sacrificing control, the fans spin faster, meaning my PC will run cooler.
