Review No. 12 Little Inferno - Wii U eShop (12+)

Strong Points:
Brilliant lighting and fire physics/animations
Can easily fit into a lunchtime break
Lots of stuff to burn
Good storyline
Relatively cheap
Lots of combos to find

Weak Points:
Really short (can be finished in 3 hours.)
Is an app as well
Loading times are really long for items you have ordered
Can leave you feeling bored as it gets repetitive

In-depth Review:

Release Dates:
North America: November 18, 2012,
PAL: November: 30, 2012

Controls:
Use the Gamepad touch screen for various aspects of the game.

Little Inferno starts off life as a very uninteresting game involving chucking things in a fireplace and watching them burn. And that's it. But slowly as you burn more stuff you start receiving letters and the game starts to shows you a very good but almost sadistic story involving a freezing cold city and your fireplace. But that's about it as all you can do is buy and then burn things. Although some items do have interesting abilities and have combos with other items the game quickly gets repetitive and with the waiting times for some items being up to 5 minutes long the game can become boring. Good thing there are regular letters and a really engaging storyline or this game would lose its appeal very quickly. And with a play through of around 3 hours the game is better suited to a smartphone (Little Inferno was released on the App store in February this year).

Conclusion: a good, short game with lots of potential but with no DLC you run out of things to do quite quickly.

Rating: 76%
