This game looks amazing and is easily one of the best-looking Wii games out there. The Sonic, hi-speed platforming is fun as always and change from 3D to 2D on some levels is a great change of pace. The wisps are good as they add a new level of gameplay but they also take away the core Sonic greatness a little bit. Furthermore, some of the wisps are much better than others while some are just for one level.

The storyline is childish and slightly boring with the script not making me laugh at all with the theme park idea being just plain stupid. The voice acting is good but the characters aren't with their characteristics not being fully developed. The physics also sometimes break and make you fall through things which you wouldn't normally and making you start over again which is very frustrating and can leave you turning the game of but then back on again because of how addictive the Sonic franchise is.

The controls are all right but sometimes difficult to use and the speed of Sonic is sometimes his downfall with floating platforms making him fall to his doom. The bosses are relatively easy (sometimes easier than normal levels) and can be boring sometimes.

Conclusion: overall this game showed great potential but was let down due to shoddy physics and controls and a lack lustre storyline. Can't wait for Sonic: The Lost World which is being released later this year.

Rating: 68%

Thanks for reading Satamer.
