Video Game Character of the Month
January 2014
Jingle
Animal Crossing
Animal Crossing
Overview:
It's that most wonderful time of the year again all of you lucky readers get a Video Game Character of the Month post with a slight twist. The twist is that this character is neither too well known nor a main character like all of my other awards. Instead you get Jingle the Black Nosed Reindeer from Animal Crossing, aren't you lucky?! Jingle is a reindeer humanoid (obviously) and is in charge of giving out presents at the time of Toy Day (that's Christmas to us non-humanoid animal folk) as well as generally cheering everyone up. I mean, isn't he just adorable? No? Oh. Well at least he gives out free presents.
A quick bit of info on Jingle:
He wears a Santa's costume
He is a reindeer with a black nose
He can be tricked to giving out more than one present (by means of changing clothes)
And yet, when he finally figures this out, he doesn't seem to mind
He gives out furniture and clothes as presents
He is overly jolly
Origin of Jingle:
Jingle is obviously a merge between Santa and Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. He is around so that he can give out presents and joy to all inhabitants of the Animal Crossing universe (except Wild World but who would go there?) as well as annoy you when he doesn't give you that specific piece of furniture that you wanted.
Evolution of Jingle:
Besides becoming less pixilated as time went on Jingle hasn't really changed that much. Until New Leaf that is. Yes, that's right, the overly jolly reindeer has finally felt the crashing weight of pressure that comes of being Santa and told you to do it for a change. A bit of a Scrooge, old Jingle has turned out to be, if you ask me. P.S I didn't mean it Jingle, please don't leave me coal!
