This game is like any other karting game out there and includes Grand Prix, Time Trial, Single Race, Missions and local and online multiplayer.

Single Player is fun and there is lots to do. Grand Prix has three difficulties and six cups with three stages each. The Grand Prix is quite long and sometimes does get repetitive but means you won't run out of things to do for ages. Time trial tasks you with picking a character and a stage and trying to get the fastest time in the leaderboards. You can go round as many times as you want as long as your laps are below the counter. Single race is a practice race of one course and missions task you with a variety of challenges made to challenge you.

There is local and online multiplayer with local being up to 4-player split screen and online being a normal race with other people from around the world. However, the games servers are pretty much empty so local multiplayer is better.

You can buy characters, stages and music tracks from the shop with Sega Miles which you gain by playing the game.

In license, you can view your records, play the tutorial and view information about the characters and stages you have purchased as well as being able to listen to the audio you have purchased.

However, some characters are better than the others which make the game slightly unfair and it makes some characters clones of others.

Something which is new is the all-star move. This is basically a super powered move which is different for each character and can change the course of the race.

Conclusion: this game is a fun game which brings something new to the karting genre and isn't afraid to think outside of the box.

Rating: 88%
