Video Game Character of the Month - October 2016 - Princess Ida - Monument Valley

Video Game Character of the Month
October 2016
Princess Ida
Monument Valley

Overview:
No, no questions. You see she's not exactly talkative you see. You have to really interpret her actions, to be honest. Yes, her being on the ceiling is completely normal, she does that. Right, no more questions, she has to get to her award ceremony. She's won Video Game Character of the Month actually.
And now for a bit of information on Ida (some spoilers ahead):

She seems to have no face

She has a pointy hat
She can only walk one block at a time
She is a princess
She is a crow
She can walk on impossible objects, otherwise known as Sacred Geometry
She is on a quest for redemption
Optical illusions are her forte
She's gone to the Forgotten Shores
She has a Totem friend
The crows aren't particularly her friends...
...But not here enemies either
She can make geometric shapes appear from her hat
She lives in a world of block colours
She had a red outfit for a limited time
A camera can document her life with filters
She managed to escape and find peace in Crossy Road...
...And House of Cards

Origin of Princess Ida:
She was developed, along with the game, over a period of 10 months, with early concept drawings by Ken Wong. The visual style of the game and Princess Ida was inspired by minimalist sculptures, Japanese prints and indie games such as Fez, although most people agree that the game resembles an M. C. Escher drawing.

Evolution of Princess Ida:
Over the course of the game different geometric shapes appear out of Ida's hat. Forgotten Shores was released as an expansion pack to Monument Valley and included 8 more levels with more mechanics for Ida to learn. As part of Apple's Apps for Red initiative, for a limited time, you could buy Ida's (RED) Dream which gave her a red costume and access to more levels.

Games:
Monument Valley: released (World Wide) on April 3rd, 2014 on iOS/on May 14th, 2014 on Android/on April 30th, 2015 on Windows Phone
Monument Valley 2: released (World Wide) on June 5th, 2017 on iOS

Well, that's all on Princess Ida but, as always, if I've missed something/made a mistake then please don't hesitate to comment! Also, if you have a suggestion for a future winner of the prestigious VGCOTM award then please comment that as well! Now where did Ida go?

Thanks for reading, Satamer.
