Oh... Um... Congratulations to the Raving Rabbids, the newest recipients of the Video Game Character of the Month Award!
And now some information about the Raving Rabbids:
They resemble humanoid rabbits
Once they tried to get to the moon by making a tower of junk
They used to have affiliations with Rayman...
...Now they're with Mario
They are quite dim-witted...
...But always seem to win
They like to party
Known in France as Lapins Crétins or Idiot Rabbits
They were originally antagonists
They have been known to dress up as other characters
They speak gibberish
They say BWAH! when they have an adrenaline rush
They have their own TV show
And comic book series
A stop-motion/live action film is being made about them
There's a Raving Rabbids themed version of the card game Jungle Speed
They were created by Michel Ancel
They like to cause mischief
Besides partying they have been known to solve puzzles, fight and jump on platforms
Origin of The Raving Rabbids:
The Raving Rabbids were originally created for Rayman 4 and were depicted as menacing and zombie-like. They would appear from underground in various shapes and forms, with a blank stare and it was Rayman's job to defeat them. As the game evolved, so did the Rabbids, becoming more conscious and humorous. They also developed more personalities than mindless grunts, having their own traits and quirks.
Evolution of The Raving Rabbids:
The Rabbids split from the Rayman series in Rabbids Gone Home after developing a large fanbase due to their viral videos and quirky nature. Since then they have branched out slightly into more style of game than just party, including puzzles and fighting. They have also taken over their own TV show called Rabbids Invasion and are looking at making their own feature film. Recently they took over another mascots game, with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
